About the Journal
FourthIR Journal is a new, peer-reviewed, open-access multidisciplinary journal published by FourthIR Limited. The journal explores the complex transformations driven by the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) and provides a critical platform for research, policy, and practice across technology, business, economics, society, governance, and the environment.
We invite submissions for Volume 1, Issue 1, which will inaugurate the journal with innovative contributions that speak to the challenges and opportunities of 4IR, particularly in both global and local contexts.

Open Access Policy
FourthIR Journal provides immediate open access to its content under the principle that making research freely available to the public supports greater global knowledge exchange. All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction, provided the original work is properly cited. Authors retain full copyright of their work.
Peer Review Process
The journal follows a double-blind peer review process. Each submission is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the subject area. Decisions are based on scholarly merit, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
Archiving
FourthIR Journal intends to use the LOCKSS and CLOCKSS systems to ensure long-term preservation of its content. The journal also deposits content in trusted academic repositories wider accessibility.
Sponsorship and Funding
The journal is currently published and fully funded by FourthIR Limited, ensuring there are no submission or publication fees for authors.
History of the Journal
Founded in 2021, FourthIR Journal was established to bridge disciplinary divides and foster dialogue on the technological, economic, and social transformations of the 21st century. The inaugural issue will be published in 2025.
